Interesting Windows 7 God Mode folder

Windows 7 God Mode FolderThere has been something new found out in Windows 7 recently, actually very recently! The first place I read about it was from JkOnTheRun, and that was posted only this morning! Good stuff, to be completely honest this God Mode folder has just about everything and anything an advanced user of Windows 7 would need, ever. It is pretty brilliant, and in case you don’t know how to get it to open, here’s how:

  1. Create a new folder anywhere on your computer, I put mine on my desktop for easy access to mess around with.
  2. Click the folder and push the F2 key on your keyboard, this is so you can rename it.
  3. Paste this exactly as it is for t he folder name: GodMode.{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C}
  4. That’s it! You’re done and now you have access to this “GodMode” folder :)

Technically it was never given the name “GodMode” by the Microsoft Dev team, you can name it whatever you want. It was also found in November of 2008 for Windows Vista, so it’s not technically anything that new, but it’s cool that you can get access to it so easily, it’s pretty nifty it has just about every control panel you would ever need, all in one sleek area. From Display to Folder options to setting up your Home Group, it’s all in one quick loading, not bogged down with lots of fluff area.

When you first open it you will notice all of the groups Expanded, which could be a hassle to scroll through all of them. It’s simple to fix, just right click on one of the groups and click “Collapse All Groups”, you can also do the same thing to open up all of the groups, if you want to.

What do you all think of this new mode? Do you think you will be using it anytime soon?

    You can change the GodMode folder name by clicking it, then pushing “F2″ on your keyboard. I think that is what you are trying to ask.
